Are they clean and presentable? Generally this is the A-Team of the company coming to your home. If it is not the owner, it is a professional salesman. If the A-Team can’t look professional what does their B-Team look like?
Are their cars presentable? This is a double edged sword. Many is the sales professional whom I have sent packing when they drive up in their $80,000.00 Mercedes. Nice car but try not to advertise that your prices are sooooo high you can afford that car, the Rolex on your wrist and the gold chain around your neck. Be good, but be humble. The flip side of this coin is when the sales professional parks in your driveway, blocking your husband’s route as he tries to leave for work. As he opens the door two fast food bags filled with garbage spill out of the car. If that is how he treats the car, how will he and his workers treat your home?
Do they ask questions regarding the comfort of your home? The person who has just stepped foot in your home will spend an average of 65 minutes within its walls, sometimes never to return. Without asking any questions concerning the comfort within your home from the person who spends an average of 270,000 minutes a year living there? You are right, it does not make much sense to me either, but there are companies who will come and go quickly leaving a strong breeze behind them and a proposal flapping in the wind. They must be REALLY good to be able to know everything without asking a single question.
